McMenamins Elk Temple

Location: Tacoma, WA

PROJECT DETAILS

The McMenamins Elk Temple is one of the most recognizable buildings on  historic Broadway in Tacoma. Years in the making, we worked closely with Mike McMenamin to restore this historical building to its former glory. This project had unique construction challenges. Each space needed to be specific for its use while also not drawing attention away from the space.  For example, the commercial kitchen in the basement of the building needed to vent thoroughly and quietly in order not to disturb guests on upper floors. Unlike other projects, the majority of scope details were provided verbally on weekly walkthroughs with the owners making the design and completion of this project a true effort of teamwork and communication.
